Workstudy:
Federal and State workstudy awards are made to all eligible students and provide an opportunity to earn part of the funds needed to attend school. A workstudy award is not the same as other grants; instead, the funds must be earned. A student who accepts a workstudy award will need to work with the Career Action Center to secure employment. Both on and off campus jobs may be available and some positions are community service oriented. A workstudy award does not guarantee a job offer.
If you are successful in obtaining employment, you must maintain enrollment of 6 or more credits each quarter. You may earn up to the amount of your award, but, depending on the number of hours you work and your rate of pay, it is possible that you may not earn your entire award. Funds that are not earned will not be given to you at a later time. Most workstudy students are paid twice a month. You are not required to accept a workstudy award and seek employment.
